Work with purpose

I've often seen several tips and tricks on how to avoid burnout but I had never heard about this one before.

It turns out that one of the biggest cures for burnout is working with purpose. It's not uncommon for us to get so immersed in our super important goal that we forget why we even started working on that goal. Since it only really affects us, it begins to lose importance (even to ourselves).

If we want to give more effort, we need to increase our motivation. Purpose is the key to increasing motivation. And this will not only start moving your focus to activities that help make the world better, but it will make you perform better!

Working with purpose means seeing the greater goal. So for example, if you are an athlete looking to beat a world record, your goal should not be just about being in the books of records. It should also be about inspiring kids all over the world to become athletes and beat your record one day.

Taken to another setting, a very easy way to find purpose in most jobs is by coaching and mentoring. Or said in other words, by giving back. So if you're struggling to find purpose, start here. See the impact your help can have on others who are starting their careers like you were several years ago. How does that make you feel about your job and contributions?
